Ageing British journalist Thomas Fowler and idealistic young CIA agent Alden Pyle meet in Vietnam during the First Indochina War. Fowler’s 20-year-old lover catches Pyle’s attention, and as their relationships develop and sour, choices are made with terrible implications for the ongoing war.
